The July General Meeting, ably chaired by President Colleen, was another great opportunity to socialise with other “Bearbrassers”, enjoy a wonderful morning tea, and learn something!
We learned about the great success of our member Kathy B, on the TV game show Tipping Point and watched a video of her winning the money at the last possible moment! Well done Kathy.
President Colleen reminded us about all the great events coming up including the Art Group attending Impressionists at the NGV, the next Sunday Roast at the Wharf Hotel, Christmas in July at PJ O’Reilly’s Irish Pub, the tour of the Old Treasury Buildings, Morning Melodies and the Walking Group.
The speaker was Katia Loisel, a human connection and behaviour specialist, whose topic was “Fearless confidence unleashed: what would you do if you weren’t scared?”
Katia gave us the Three Keys to Amplify Your Magnetic Presence, Confidence and Impact” – and magnetise us she did, as can be seen in the photo.
Her three keys included 1. Fear Isn’t Real (FEAR being False Evidence, Appearing Real), 2. Our Emotions Can be Changed (SCAN being Stop and Scan, Connect, Acknowledge and New Narrative) and 3. Emotions are Contagious (no acronym here!).
As always after the meeting we were off to TAP831 for lunch (and a bit more socialising) and to try the new menu!!
