The President formally inducted three new members at our recent general meeting; Adele H, Fay T, and Susan W.  We also welcomed guests who  have expressed interest in joining our merry band!

Heather C, our new Welfare Officer, explained her role and requested that if anyone becomes aware of a member who is indisposed, give Heather a call, so she can make contact.

Kerry F gave us a run down on the latest books the Book Club has been reading and Richard B spruiked his next organised walk.

After tea break it was over to the main attraction.

Our Founding Member who is also a Life Member, Tony T, gave us a fascinating story about his recent visit to The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), which is on the edge of the Giza Plateau near the pyramids. It is vast in scale, with an angular alabaster façade that glows in the desert light. Its elevated terraces frame sweeping views of the Pyramids of Giza. Inside there is a soaring atrium dominated by a colossal statue of Ramses II, which sets the tone for a journey through 5,000 years of history.  It was a wonderful presentation, and made most of us green with envy that we hadn't been there too!
All in all, the presentation finished too soon!

As always, after closing the meeting we all headed off to an enjoyable lunch at TAP831.
