This month’s ever-popular Wine Night was depleted by various illnesses but nevertheless, eleven friends enjoyed a most convivial evening. The wines of the Rhone Valley featured, with a selection from both the Northern and Southern regions and information was shared via notes and video about the geographic, climatic and historic features of the wines we tasted. For many, the French wines exceeded expectations both in taste and cost, leading to plans to further explore the vast array of French vineyards. As always, many hands made light work of washing up and there was lots of discussion and laughter to accompany the task. Whilst some of us made our way home, others of our group shared a meal together to finish off the evening. There is much to look forward to as we look to the November Wine Night and the mystery of the tastings to come.
