Our club's first writers' workshop got off to a good start on September 9 with half a dozen exchanging views on fiction and factual writing. To our surprise our members include published novel authors and poets, as well as newcomers to the writing craft.
Members have submitted some examples of "flash fiction"  - stories in 100-300 words only, which is great practice in compression and making every word count.
The first session mainly involved members describing their histories and needs as writers and suggestions for future workshop topics.
Best aspect was the enthusiasm -- you can't keep a keen writer down!  Next session to be organised shortly.
