A very well attended annual general meeting saw the management of the club roll over from 2023/24 to 2024/25 without a hitch.
In her annual report the outgoing president, Jill deA said how much she had enjoyed her time as president and thanked the members for being so willing to step forward and get things done! She observed that the club was still in growth mode having increased membership numbers by over 10% in the past 12 months. Jill also praised the various event convenors for their energy and contributions in providing a packed and active program for members and at the same time giving others the opportunity to be involved in identifying and running events. She suggested that there was generally a common theme in all the events of fun, friendship, food and refreshment.
Treasurer Ray was able to present the financial report showing prudent management of the club finances and consequently was able to recommend no changes to membership or joining fees.
One of the founding members of the club – Founding President Mel - was recognised with the conferring of Life Membership (refer to the article below).
The meeting also saw the induction of the 2024/25 President Shane and the new Management Committee of Ross, Ray, Colleen, Sue, Cheryl, Coral-lee and Spike (pictured below).
Incoming President Shane outlined his intent for the club for the coming year, which can be summarised as “fun, fun, fun”.
As always after the monthly meeting we adjourned for lunch to the TAP831 bistro for fun and friendship (and a bit of eating and drinking).
