Speaker for our monthly meeting next Tuesday, is our member Dr Cynthia Cowling who’ll talk on her career specialty, the advances of medical imaging.
As she puts it,“From the accidental discovery of X rays to the current use of artificial intelligence, Medical Imaging has had a fascinating journey. This presentation will highlight some of the amazing developments (and horrors) of this diagnostic tool.”
Here are more reasons why you shouldn’t miss this terrific talk. Cynthia is still active as an adjunct senior lecturer at Monash University. She supervises PhD and other advanced students and in her research specialty of breast imaging.
She has worked internationally with agencies like WHO and the IAEA (Intl. Atomic Energy Agency), and in 2018 received the Dien Van Dijk Award for her contribution to radiography internationally. Monash says the award is made only once every four years and recognises exceptional service to radiographer education and the development of medical radiation.
