Six new members (Greg R, Linda F, Annabel S, Mac M, Maggie R and Leeanne M) were inducted at our latest monthly meeting, welcomed in by President Colleen (pic above left with Leeanne M) . Also present were three guests, resulting in a packed meeting. We then enjoyed an excellent talk on Melbourne Airport development and a third runway, including how jet noise will be minimised. The speakers were the project’s Shantelle O’Riordan and Emily Box (pic above right).
Colleen also noted that as a trial, we’ll start our November 10 monthly meeting from 10.15 a.m. with tea/coffee and biscuits, and the meeting proper at 11.a.m. in a combined session of announcements plus guest speaker. The idea is to better promote socialising and avoid the current congestion around the hot-water urns. Here’s pics of our new members and of our impressive speakers.
