September: Bearbrass Walking Group Docklands Pubilc Art Walk. Approximately a 5 kilometer walk in and around the precint of Docklands. During the walk there is an opportunity to view artworks situated in the parks, promenades and built into the architecture and landscape. The walk is mostly on paved flat surfaced walkways. The weather maybe cool so wear warm clothes and sturdy shoes. Meet at 9.30am, corner Spencer and Collins Street under the clock tower at Spencer Street station.

If you've never played these card games before and would like to learn, we are only too happy to have you join in. So why not come along and enjoy some friendship and fun along the way. The games are very relaxed - evidenced by the smiles on the faces around the room. |

It is a free event, if you have a bat, feel free to bring it.

I am currently in Norway so won’t be able to divulge the theme to registered and paid up tasters until next week when Neil and I are back in Melbourne. Dear Golf Enthusiasts,
Now the weather is kinder, perhaps you are interested in playing another round of golf with like minded Probarians? Malvern Valley Public Golf Course is in Malvern East, about 15 minutes from the CBD. Please bring your own clubs and buggy unless you would prefer to hire these at the Pro Shop. Cost for 18 holes is $34.30 or $25.50 for 9 holes. Pensioner/Senior Concession available also. Once I know confirmed numbers I will make the appropriate number of group bookings. I would hope for us to start about 10.00am.

The venue for the monthly general meeting is the Community Hub at the Dock which is located next to the Library at The Dock and Buluk Park, on the extension of Collins Street in Docklands (in the direction of North Wharf Road towards the Bolte Bridge). We will be meeting in the large multipurpose room on the first floor. Go up the stairs or in the lift and walk down the hall towards the back of the building.

The aim of this interest group is to have lots of fun with friends and then to enjoy some fellowship with others at a neaby cafe at the conclusion of the event. The event will be held on the 2nd Friday of the month, from February to November inclusive, except for the months of April and July in 2024 due to clashing with Victorian school holidays. No experience is necessary, and it is not a competition, so come along and enjoy some fun with other like minded people. |

Our club has arranged for an informative tour of Government House for members
on Monday October 14th.
The tour will be led by a senior member of the Government House staff who will offer a unique insight into the constitutional, ceremonial, international and community engagement duties of the Governor.
Visitors will be guided through the state apartments to learn about the history of the house and its contemporary role. We will also tour the Peace and Prosperity Kitchen Garden which should be in full spring bloom.
Members should arrive at the gates to Government House no later than 9.30 to allow time for all security checks.
The duration of the tour itself is 90min.
Following the tour, there will opportunity to join your fellow members for a lunch at Jardin Tan.
There is NO COST for this tour but you MUST register by accepting this invitation.
Guests welcome, however there are limited numbers available and I will be giving precedence to members.
Photos may be taken but NOT videos.
Large bags are not allowed.

The walking group meets monthly to walk around various landmarks close to the city. Walks are generally around 5k and certainly no further than 8k with big hills avoided. A suitable stop for coffee is normally part of the walk. It is a good opportunity to get some exercise and have a chat at the same time. Members of the group take it in turns to plan and lead the walk.

Members usually have a morning coffee at Saluministi Cafe, ground floor Concavo-Convesso Apartments, before officially beginning the meeting at 11:30am. There is always the option to stay on for lunch following the meeting. Each month, the discussion is led by a club member, with books and leaders planned ahead for the year. New members are warmly welcomed! The book under discussion in October is "Stone Yard Devotional" by Charlotte Wood and the discussion leader is Vanessa. |

Cost for the tasting is generally $25 per head. If you are coming remember to bring a pen. |

I have made a group booking for Sister Act :The Musical , at The Regent Theatre, starring Casey Donovan and Rhonda Burchmore, based on the iconic film which starred Whoopi Goldberg. Seats have been reserved in the dress circle, however if accessability via stairs is difficult, I can book separate seats in the stalls.
